H.E. Mr. Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, expressed his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect them, on the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, signing the Agreement for the Exchange of Information between Members of the GlobE Network.
This came after Al-Kahmous signed the Agreement for the Exchange of Information between Members of the GlobE Network on the sidelines of the network’s 7th Plenary Meeting, held at the United Nations Office in Vienna.
Al-Kahmous highlighted the support and care extended by the wise leadership, may Allah support it, to the Authority’s distinguished initiatives locally and internationally, aimed at protecting integrity, combating corruption, enhancing international cooperation, and supporting related efforts. He noted that this is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which has made transparency, accountability, and combating corruption among its key pillars.
He explained that the agreement aims to enhance the efficiency of international cooperation and facilitate and accelerate the secure exchange of information, contributing to the detection and investigation of corruption crimes, the prosecution of perpetrators, and the recovery of stolen assets.
He stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to strengthening information exchange and making use of available cooperation mechanisms, in a way that contributes to combating corruption at the local and international levels. This is reflected in the Kingdom’s membership in the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities and the GlobE Network, as well as in the international recognition received by its efforts and initiatives in this field.
The signing of the agreement comes as an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to strengthen international cooperation in combating corruption and to consolidate frameworks for cooperation and information exchange among relevant law enforcement authorities at the international level.
It is worth noting that during its G20 Presidency in 2020, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, proposed an initiative to establish a secure network and platform for the exchange of information among anti-corruption law enforcement authorities. The initiative was welcomed by the leaders of the G20, under the presidency of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah protect him, and was later named the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities, known as the GlobE Network.
The network was launched under the umbrella of the United Nations during the first special session of the United Nations General Assembly against corruption, held on June 3, 2021. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed its establishment and commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s role in creating the network and its efforts to strengthen international cooperation in combating corruption.
The network currently includes 252 law enforcement authorities from 137 countries, in addition to more than 16 observer organizations. In February 2025, at the United Nations Office in Vienna, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia assumed the presidency of the network for the 2025–2027 term, after the Kingdom’s representative, Dr. Nasser bin Ahmed Abaalkhail, Deputy for International Collaboration at the Authority, was unanimously elected as Chair of the network.
